Howdy Folks,

Spring is finally here...the weather we all love means getting those acoustic instruments out and playin in the good ole' fresh Michigan air. I wanted to try to give everyone an idea of what's been going on in my musical world. The album with Noah Hunt, All The Dark Things, is pretty firmly in the mixing stages right now and we're hoping it will be ready for release within a few months. We'll soon have a dedicated site or myspace page up to keep folks up to date on any show dates and cd releases. I'm sure there will be some nice intimate duo shows as well as a few full band shows to present this material and I know I'm looking forward to it.

This summer has me playing mandolin with a wonderful duet, the Milroys, at a handful of Michigan Folk & Bluegrass Festivals and I'm going to try my best to join up with some other good friends of mine, Annie & Rod Capps, whenever possible. Their new album in the works is really something exciting to hear. Annie & Rod will also be joining the Milroys for some of the festival dates, as well as bass player Tim Pak, creating quite a fun little acoustic outfit. Hope to see some of you out there for these shows. (www.themilroys.com)

I'm still gathering material for what will be my first vocal record, I have written a handful of ever changing songs and put some music to material written by friends of mine. With a scattering of stuff performed on mandolin, guitar, or lapsteel, I just can't get away from all of these different colors so you never quite know what instrument I'll be doing a song on. This material also lets me sift thru my various influences including bluegrass and bluegrass gospel, to some funkier, bluesy romps and quiet singer-songwriter laced songs...no real definitive stamp on this other than being me and my voice so I'll have to let everyone else decide what to call it....

I'm not abandoning any of my instrumental material and there will be a few instrumentals on this next record, but the landscape is just becoming a bit more broad!

Thanks so much for the continued support and open ear...
Jason
